Client Sessions

Tips for your engagement photos, from one of your favorite San Diego photographers

Once seen as just an option on the engagement must-do menu, engagement photographs are now an essential piece of the action.  The photos, often taken in natural settings like parks, beaches, or backyards– ah, the magic of natural lighting!– can be a great way to announce your upcoming wedding. Some couples like to get cute and don matching outfits. I always say, “don’t match, just coordinate”.  As candid photojournalistic photography has grown in popularity, some couples here in San Diego will have a photographer take action photos of them doing things they enjoy, like running side-by-side, walking on the beach, having coffee, or riding bicycles. Some hopeful and confident grooms-to-be are even clever enough to hire a photographer to shoot the proposal. (Fellas, just be pretty sure she’s gonna say “yes”). I happen to be a San Diego photographer that does such things! Surprise proposals are one of my specialities and I also include engagement photos right after the proposal.

When the engagement session is over, you can put your pictures to many uses! Many couples decide to enlarge their favorite image into canvas and prominently display it in their home. Some couples decide to have a guest sign-in book, using all of the session images, at the wedding. You can also use them for save-the-date cards, magnets, table setting centerpieces, and wedding invitations. They are especially perfect for social media.

Don’t forget to HAVE FUN with it! And of course elle.g photography is always here for any of your beach engagement photo needs!
