If there’s one thing I love more than a good beach sunset, it’s getting the chance to capture a senior portraits San Diego session that’s packed with meaning, memories, and a little extra fun. And when Ellie, a sweet Texas girl, came to Coronado Island for her senior portraits, we did not hold back. In fact, I’m going to say it—hands down, these are my favorite senior portraits to date.

Ellie and her family have been coming to Coronado Island and the iconic Hotel Del for years. It’s their special place, and I could immediately see why Ellie wanted to make it the backdrop for her senior portraits. Talk about sentimental. And with good reason—there’s something about the sand, the waves, and the timeless beauty of Coronado that makes for the perfect location. If you’re looking for senior portraits in San Diego that really tell a story, you can’t go wrong here.

But, of course, no senior portraits San Diego session is complete without some fun moments along the way. Ellie brought her best friend along for the ride (because why not make senior portraits a team sport?), and I’ll tell you—these girls had energy. They were laughing, joking, and totally owning the moment. And of course, Ellie’s mom, Jenny, had to be included in for a few shots too. I insisted—because hey, mom moments are the best moments, especially when we’re talking about memories that’ll last a lifetime.

Every change of clothes came with a new energy, a new vibe, and I loved getting to capture the different sides of Ellie. From the stunning, more formal looks to the carefree moments with her best friend, these senior portrait sessions are all about capturing the whole personality. And Ellie’s was shining through in every shot.
