Sean and Ana had a beautiful surprise proposal at Balboa Park. Sean proposed to Ana on a bench in the beautiful Alcazar Garden. Sean secretly had a friend bring pillows and wine. They sat down on the bench and talked for a while and I tried to act busy. Balboa Park is one of the most beautiful places in San Diego, and it was the perfect setting for photographing this surprise proposal! I recruited a stranger (in the red jacket) to pretend to be my muse so Ana wouldn’t be on to me. Afterall there weren’t that many people in the garden so I had to blend in somehow.

Despite all of the social media influencers that seem to be rampant these days, not everyone loves to have their photos taken. Ana happens to be one of those people. I normally include complimentary engagement photos after a proposal, but these two opted for a more hands-off approach.
