A Picture-Perfect San Diego Proposal at Coronado Beach

There are certain moments that just make you feel like you’re part of something huge, and this proposal was one of those moments. Imagine it: a couple on vacation with the girl’s parents, the sun shining, the waves crashing, and the guy secretly planning a San Diego proposal of a lifetime. And me? I was the lucky San Diego proposal photographer who got to capture it all.

This beautiful couple, visiting from Nebraska, had decided that this vacation would be the one where they would take the next step. The plan? To pop the question in San Diego, in one of the most magical spots I know: the sand dunes near the iconic Hotel Del Coronado. If you’ve never been, the sand dunes are a hidden gem—perfect for photos, especially when the light is just right.

Why Coronado Beach is Perfect for Proposals

As a Coronado beach photographer, I’ve photographed plenty of stunning sessions on this beach, family portraits, maternity sessions and engagement sessions like this and it never disappoints. Something tells me she was already on to him, when he made a b-line towards the dunes. After the big moment, we spent some time in the dunes, getting portraits of the newly-engaged couple with her parents.
