Lifestyle photographer San Diego here, and let me tell you—the Rocklins knew how to vacation right. They packed up the kids, ditched the Arizona heat, and headed straight for the coast. Hello, San Diego. Sunshine, ocean breezes, and—bonus—a built-in excuse to finally get some actually good family photos. Not the awkward, forced-smile kind you get in a studio with a fake forest backdrop. Nope. Just real life, lived out loud on the beach. The kind of session that smells like sunscreen, feels like bare feet in the sand, and sounds like your kids’ laughter echoing off the waves. While they were here on their San Diego beach vacation, the Rocklins decided to make the most of it and book a family beach photo session in Coronado. Honestly? Vacation is the perfect time to hire a professional photographer. Everyone’s (mostly) relaxed, you’ve already got your cute vacation outfits packed, and the ocean’s doing her sparkly, photogenic thing in the background.
We met up at the dunes in Coronado, where the kids did what kids do best: ran, played, climbed, splashed, and forgot all about the fact that there was a camera pointed at them. That’s when the magic happens. When it doesn’t feel like a photo shoot—it just feels like… your family being your family. On vacation. At the beach. With really, really good light.
