When my friend Emily asked me to be her beach maternity photographer, I knew San Diego’s coastline was the perfect backdrop. No stuffy studios or fake backgrounds—just the raw, natural beauty of the surrounding La Jolla beaches.

We started late in the day. Emily, barefoot in the sand, wore a casual dress with cute accessories. The light was perfect as the waves kissed her feet, and she glowed with a serene happiness that made my job a breeze.

Later, Emily changed into a stunning white lace dress. We strolled along the shore, her cradling her belly with a peaceful smile that said it all. Luckily for me, the sun was shining bright that day and I was able to capture some beautiful sunbeams.

Each outfit, each setting, brought out a different side of her joy and anticipation. As I clicked away, it felt like I was capturing pure love and excitement, not just for her, but for me too, because Emily’s not just a client—she’s a friend.
