As a San Diego + Coronado beach photographer who basically lives with sand between her toes, I’ve seen a lot of love stories—but Jeff and Jane? They stole the show. These two were celebrating 50 years together (yes, fifty) and had never had professional photos taken. Not even once. I was shook. But also ridiculously honored that they trusted me to finally capture their story on camera. Honestly? It was about time.

We headed to the dreamy sand dunes on Coronado Island—one of my absolute favorite spots for couples sessions. Think golden light, ocean breeze, and that soft dune grass that looks like it came straight off a romance novel cover. Jeff and Jane kept it casual: comfy clothes, ditched the shoes, and delivered huge grins. And get this—they were giddy. Like first-crush, sneaking-notes-in-class giddy. Watching them giggle and hold hands like teenagers? Pure joy.

We got a little of everything: sweet, romantic snuggles. Big belly laughs. The kind of candid moments you can’t fake. Their love was loud and soft all at once—easy, real, and totally contagious. By the end of the shoot, they were glowing, I was grinning, and they walked away with a gallery full of images that actually felt like them.
