These two are headed for a destination wedding in Hawaii, but before all that island magic, they wanted a little local magic too. Specifically: engagement sessions in San Diego. And I was more than happy to say yes, yes, a thousand times YES. Anne and Brian are getting married in Hawaii this April—because apparently, they enjoy tropical breezes, oceanfront vows, and making the rest of us wildly jealous. 

We met up near the Catamaran on Mission Bay—a spot that feels like vacation without the TSA lines. The sun was doing that soft golden thing it does, and these two brought all the sweet, snuggly vibes.

Bikes, Beach, and One Very Good Boy

Brian and Anne kept things super chill—think seaside walks, beach cruisers, and a whole lotta kisses for Thunder. (You will want to scroll for the puppy pics.) Adding one seriously photogenic pup, who honestly could have his own modeling contract, just makes the entire engagement session complete…I mean they’re family members after all. The whole shoot felt like a love letter to San Diego: relaxed, a little playful, and crazy beautiful in that “is this real life?” kind of way.

Engagement Photography on Mission Bay? Always a Win.

If you’re dreaming of engagement photography on the beach without the crowds or chaos, Mission Bay is kind of perfect. It’s got all the beauty of a beach setting, but with quieter corners, softer light, and more room to just be. Add in a couple this sweet and a dog named Thunder, and yeah—San Diego totally delivered.

Sure, Hawaii’s calling—but San Diego absolutely holds its own. Between Mission Bay’s calm water (heck anywhere along our 70 mile coastline is a win), dreamy light, and zero chance of forgetting your passport, it’s a solid ten for engagement photography on the beach. Add in a couple this cute and a dog named Thunder? Done and done.

Someday I’ll make it back to Hawaii. (Manifesting hard over here.) But until then, give me sun, sand, and couples like this, and I’ll never complain.
