Wedding at the Marston House

Have you ever heard of the Marston House?
The property, which was originally built for George Marston and his family, became a house museum in 1987 after the Marston family gifted it to the City of San Diego. They just reopened it on July 23rd to the public. They need to raise awareness to begin funding the necessary work of restoration and refurnishing.

Eddie of Studio 512 invited me along to the wedding of Ruthann and Chris at the Marston House. Their wedding was outside in the garden and I thought it was absolutely perfect for a romantic wedding!

Ruthann and Chris decided to have a “First Look”. I can’t express how beneficial I think it is that the bride and groom meet up before the wedding!

What is a First Look?
A First Look is the idea of creating a moment before the ceremony where a couple meets for the first time, in their wedding attire, shortly before the ceremony begins. Everyone chooses to do it differently. I’ve found what is most popular is to go off somewhere…a little out of the way. So, it’s a moment truly between the two of you.
The day of your wedding can be a very hectic one. Usually things are planned out so much that the schedule doesn’t allow much time for portraits of the bride and groom. Having a First Look allows you to get the majority of the pictures done early and enables you to have more time to enjoy your guests!

The next 12 pictures were all taken BEFORE the wedding at Balboa Park and the Park Manor Hotel:

Engagement session on San Diego waterways

Can we tell you how much we LOVE our job???????

We shot John and Dion’s engagement session on their unbelievable yacht…that’s right I said YACHT! We took a cruise around the downtown/Coronado water ways. John’s friend, Rich, drove while we took pictures of them at sunset against a downtown skyline. Seriously how fun is that?!?!

John and Dion are so adorable together…very playful!

The Thursday Club wedding:: Tammy and Jillian

From the desk of Ross……….

Another FUN wedding!!!!!

This is shaping up to be an outstanding summer, great San Diego weather with smiles and dancing everywhere!

Jillian and Tammy had their ceremony and reception at the Thursday Club which is located in the Ocean Beach/Point Loma area. The Thursday Club is an awesome venue that combines amazing architecture with breathtaking landscape.

DeShai of Oh So Chic Event Planning did an outstanding job. The event was running so smoothly that she was able to push it into fast forward, at the request of Jillian and Tammy, and sail effortlessly into the night.

Kristie of Continental Catering served up a scrumptious Mexican style buffet. MY FAVORITE!!! It looked and smelled delicious. I wanted to snatch two tacos and run down the street in joyful bliss, arms raised in a V, shouting “I have TACOS!!!!”

J Lee of JLee Imagery helped us photograph this event. She set up a mini studio on the outside patio and was able capture some great poses of family and friends. Thanks J Lee!!!!

Tammy and Jillian were smiling ear to ear on this day, which is very contagious and fun for us. They are light hearted, fun loving and have the love and support of their family and friends. We feel very honored that Jillian and Tammy chose us to help them remember their special day.

Mike of DJ Michael Angell was on top of things and knew exactly what the crowd wanted to hear. It was too wild on the dance floor to get pictures. Luckily for us, there was a stage so we could safely record the festivities!
