Peacock inspired wedding in Florida

Hello dear blog readers! I’ve missed you!
I have been visiting my husband’s family in Florida. We made the trip to attend his cousins wedding. I actually got to be a guest at a wedding!!!! Of course I couldn’t help myself and snapped some photographs.
My husband’s cousin is Jessica. Jessica and Nick got married last weekend in Jacksonville Florida at St Johns Greek Orthodox church…the very same place HER mother and father got married years before.
How cool!

The wedding was peacock feather inspired and I absolutely ADORED it! The bridesmaids wore black dresses accented with peacock feathers and jewelry that Jessica made for them. Jessica is an entrepeneur in her own right. She writes a blog called “Dear Georgette” and it showcases the beautiful jewelry that she makes.

The wedding reception took place at the Alltel Stadium where the Jacksonville Jaguars play!
I am a detail fanatic and was so excited when I saw the beautiful room coordinated by Christina Kreations.

My favorite cupcakes (w/ blue flower)…they were carrot cake and half of it was frosting. YUM!

Reception ideas for brides

Last month I had the chance to attend The Special Event Show here in San Diego.
The Special Event show is a convention where hundreds of vendors displayed the newest décor and special event related trends and ideas for industry professionals.
I thought I would share with all of the brides-to-be that check out my blog. Maybe you can get some inspiration!

You will notice that some of the ideas are over-the-top and may be out of your budget. I know if you are anything like me, a do-it-yourself’er (is that a word?), you can easily find a way to duplicate the ideas and modify to your taste at a fraction of the cost.:)

The covered chairs impressed me the most. It looked like the chairs were wearing dresses!
